 International Postal Match

The rifle shoot on January 21st begins our annual competition sponsored by the Upper Michigan Peninsula Muzzle Loaders Club. The targets are shot at 25 yards, best 5 out of 6 are for score. This competition ends with the June rifle shoot. In past years we have done pretty well but last year.....well....participation was not up to what it once so that's all I'm going to say! Let's do better in 2023!

 Fred Babcock Reports

Yolla Bolly Rendezvous is held in November outside of Red Bluff. Fred placed first in the Squirrel Rifle Match. 2nd place on the Rifle, Pistol and Hawk and Knife Trails. I liked the Yolla Bolly Rendezvous and enjoyed the first time I did get to attend. It was early in my shooting career and I didn't own a trailer yet, just a tent. Kay Johnson came down from Oregon in her camper so I had a warm place to sleep and a place to cook. Glenn Hildebrand brought his tin tipi and Fred Babcock and Rusty McGhee joined him. We all did quite well on the trail walks although I no longer remember the outcomes. After the shoot was over we drove a short way up the road to Fred's mom (Frances) and dad's (Arlen) place. They had a well laid out and pleasant trail walk on their rolling hills land so we shot some more. Some happy memories.

Fred also went to the one day Northern Free Trader's Turkey Shoot. Fred reports several people were unhappy about his Hawk and Knife scores! Way to go, Fred!
